LATEST NEWS FROM THE GTA
GTA and GUSD met on Sept. 23 and Sept. 30 to discuss the district's plans for returning some students and unit members to school sites. On Oct. 14, GUSD presented GTA with a proposal to bring back some of our members for in-person instruction, assessment, and support services for some special education students. GTA will use your feedback from our recent survey as we work to ensure the safety of our students and our members.
As part of the current MOU, GUSD agreed to "regularly solicit feedback . . . about the instsructional program, [and] to use this feedback to regularly evaluate the instructional program, and to negotiate adjustments to video conferencing expectations and instructional schedules."
Members are encouraged to gather quantitative and qualitative data about the current instructional program in order to provide feedback and to give the GTA leadership information when it negotiates adjustments to our current instructional program. Please share feedback with site reps, as we began holding Rep Council meetings in September.
Finally, we continue to work with our colleagues in CTA to help secure adequate funding for future years by working to help pass Proposition 15, the Schools and Communities First Initiative, which is on the November ballot. Please consider helping out with this effort now; sending prepaid postcards to friends and family is one way to support the "Yes on 15" campaign.
