What are we?

The Glendale Teachers Association is a labor union. We are a local chapter of the 335,000 - member CTA (California Teacher's Association), which is an affiliate of the 2.8 million - member NEA (National Education Association).

Making Changes to Education at the National Level

The National Education Association (NEA) is our national teachers union. Every year there is a Representative Assembly (RA) where close to 10,000 teachers attend. At this meeting, Robert’s Rules of Order are followed as delegates create policy and framework for our NEA. more

Union Code of Conduct

  • I will not criticize any union colleague except to the individual directly.

  • I will not participate in any conversations with management that criticize, or negativity speculate about any union colleague.
  • I will settle my differences with colleagues within the union.
  • I will engage in debate, offer others every opportunity for debate and respect the minority viewpoints, but I will observe and support the majority mandate of the union.
